On Saturday, July 2 the LCiGB approved an updated Safeguarding Policy. Jeff Trinklein, LCiGB Chair says, “Safeguarding the most vulnerable in our congregations is everyone’s responsibility, and we encourage all congregations to review the new policy carefully.”
The new Safeguarding document is available on the Congregational Resources page.
Safeguarding training is available via the Church of England’s National Safeguarding Team. We have access to the following online modules: Basic Awareness, Foundation, Safer Recruitment and People Management, and Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse. According to the LCiGB Safeguarding policy the Pastors, Safeguarding Officers, Deputy Safeguarding Officers, Sunday school teachers and Trustees will receive induction training and undertake recognised safeguarding training every three years.
