Invitation to Anniversary Celebrations in Corby

The Lutheran Church in Great Britain is turning 60!

On Reformation weekend, the LCiGB is planning a celebration in Corby, where the LCiGB was founded in 1961. Much has changed since 1961, both in the world at large and in the Church that became the LCiGB, so we welcome the time to sit back and reflect on our founding and where that leads us in the future.

Enclosed is the invitation to our Anniversary Celebration on October 30 in Corby. We have a number of events planned, starting with a special Service at 11 a.m., followed by recollections, reminiscences, and thoughts on the future of the LCiGB.

Those who are able to stay for the weekend have the option of enjoying a Sunday morning service with the Church of England congregation at St. John the Baptist Church before heading back home.

We are asking for RSVPs by 15 October, so we can make appropriate plans for catering, hotels. Also, if the travel costs are daunting for you, please reach out to Emily Weller, the LCiGB Administrator. We have set aside some funds to assist with travel costs and to make sure that everyone who wants to be part of the celebration can make it to Corby.
