CLC Pastor Shares Message of Encouragement at LWF Assembly

From 11-15 June 2026, the Lutheran World Federation Council gathered in Founex, Switzerland around the theme, ‘Be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.’ In the spirit of the assembly’s focus, LCiGB Pastor Rev. Sarah Farrow led a Bible Study based on Romans 1:16–17, sharing how the Gospel calls us not to let our differences divide us, but actually encourages us to delight in diversity. Rev. Farrow explained how even in moments of disagreement, it is God’s grace that holds us and draws us back together.

Reflecting on the experience, Sarah shared, ‘It was a joy to be with Lutheran siblings from around the world. Each of us reflects something of God’s image, and it’s in sharing life together that we begin to glimpse more of the depth and fullness of God’s love.’

She continued, ‘During the meeting, we really experienced that sense of “delighting” in one another: through new friendships, sharing challenges and joys, and celebrating our Lutheran identity grounded in grace and hope.’

The LWF Council meets annually, to bring member church representatives together in prayer, deliberation and strategising the future work of the global communion. The 2027 meeting is scheduled to take place in Brazil.
