Bishop Emeritus of the LCiGB to speak at conference, in Leeds, on the legacy of Lutheran theologian and martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer
On the 9th April 2025, Project Bonhoeffer (in cooperation with St Luke’s and St Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Leeds and the Universities Chaplaincy in Leeds) is hosting a Bonhoeffer Memorial Event, focusing on the theme ‘The Legacy of Dietrich Bonhoeffer 80 years on’.
This event marks 80 years since Bonhoeffer’s execution. We are honoured to be joined by Bishop Martin Lind (bishop Emeritus of the LCiGB) and the Revd Dr Keith Clements, who will share in a memorial lecture and discussion. At the end of the event, there will be a memorial service of Holy Communion for those who wish to participate.
The event will take place both online and in person at the Emmanuel Centre (Leeds University Chaplaincy, UK), and will run from 12:30-17:30. If you have any questions or need to discuss attendance please contact Project Bonhoeffer directly or Pastor Joseph (j.nelson@leedslutheran.co.uk).
Bishop Martin was Bishop of the LCiGB from 2014 to 2019 (Pictured above with his predecessors and his immediate successor Bishop Tor) . Bishop Martins academic interest includes the work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the work of Bonhoeffer has had a profound effect on his life. We look forward to hearing his input and perspectives on the topic and the importance of Bonhoeffer’s legacy today. Please do come along online (or even better- in person) to this event.
