Bishop Tor B Ordains 2 Candidates into Priesthood

The Lutheran Church in Great Britain extends a warm invitation to the community to join in prayer and celebration at the upcoming Ordination to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament of two dedicated ordinands, Rebecca Daniel and Wilkins Tang.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, starting at 4:00 PM. The Rite of Ordination and Service of Holy Communion will be held at St Anne’s Lutheran Church, located at St Mary-at-Hill, Lovat Lane, London EC3R 8EE.

The sermon will be delivered by Rev Dr Martin Junge, the former General Secretary of the Lutheran World Federation, Bishop Tor B Jørgensen will lead the ordination ceremony.

In the words of Scripture, Rebecca draws inspiration from 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “The one who calls you is faithful.” Wilkins Tang’s calling is grounded in Acts 26:19: “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.”

The London Chinese Lutheran Church joyfully confirms the call of Wilkins Tang to serve as a pastor in their congregation. The Council of Lutheran Churches is equally delighted to confirm that Rebecca Daniel is called to serve as an ordained student-chaplain employed by the Council.
